Institute for Population and Development was established in 2001 with the support of International Planned Parenthood Federation and it became a full member of its IPPF European Network in 2006.
The Institute is subjected to the obligation of compliance with 10 key principles of membership of this network: openness and democracy, good management (management board), strategic and progressive activity, transparency and responsibility, good leadership (organizational level), financial sustainability, good employer, dedication to results, dedication to quality and leading non-governmental organization in the country.
